My mom and I just finished watching the Poldark tv series and I have a good sequel series in mind. Feel free to tell me what you guys think.
Poldark: The Legacy Continues a sequel series, following Geoffrey Charles Poldark, who returns home to Cornwall from serving in the British Army in the Napoleonic Wars and becomes the new protector of the impoverished people of Cornwall after the loss of uncle Ross.
The Cast:
Domhnall Gleeson as Geoffrey Charles Poldark
Erin Richards as Cecily Poldark (née Hanson)
Gillian Anderson as Demelza Poldark
Harry Treadaway & Luke Treadaway As Samuel Penrose and Montgomery Penrose: identical twin brothers Royal Navy veterans turned brilliant and idealistic lawyers who join forces with Geoffrey to fight against corruption and bring hope back to Cornwall.
Letitia Wright as Sarah Williams - daughter of Jupiter, A resilient and resourceful freed slave who escapes to Cornwall and joins the fight for freedom, becoming an inspiration to all.
Idris Elba as Rev. Israel Williams - father of Venus, A freed slave turned preacher who with his powerful voice joins the Poldarks on their fight for freedom
Matthew Lewis as Hugo Blackwood: A shrewd and calculating businessman determined to exploit Cornwall's resources after the fall of the Warleggans
Brendan Coyle as Percival Blackwood: Hugo’s equally cunning uncle

It seems that the books take a significant time just around book 8...and the show ended with Ross and Dwight leaving to become spies in France. I have seen interviews where the show runners say that this time jump was a problem so that seemed to be a good time to end the series. I am wondering if, after some years have past and the actor are older, will the actors return another Poldark series to finish the books?
Come on! Masterpiece does this series so good!!
They seriously gotta do a few movies that center on the rest of the books featuring the birth and teenage lives of Isabella Rose and Henry Poldark and Ursula Warleggen.
I bet this version will show how the teenage Valentine finally finds out that Ross was his father the whole time really good (that is the best part ever if as k me) If only he had not died in that fire.
Plus, I wanna see Morwenna and Drake as parents to Loveday as she grows; same for Dwight and Lady Caroline to Sophie and Meliora.
Had they adapted all the books within the five seasons?

I am the only one who deeply desires more Poldark covering the rest of the novels!!?
Ending in 1801, with Ross and Dwight leaving on another epic adventure together and leaving Demelza to prepare for the birth of their fourth child; Isabella Rose.
Also, Caroline ends up delivering two more daughters; Sophie and Meliora, which I am quite interested in seeing in this more popular version of the Graham's series.
And I wanna see little Ursula grow up, as she is described as a "female George" as the years- 1802, 1803, 1804, 1805, 1806, 1807, 1808, 1809, 1810 and 1811- go by as George's grip continues to ever tighten over Ross and all of Cornwall, and with for Valentine to discover Ross was his true father all along!! I mean, the resemblance is uncanny!!
And I miss Verity and her warmth!!
"FINAL EPISODE" MY ASS!! More like FAR FROM IT!! And I emphasis "far!! THEY MUST GIVE US SEASON 6 WITH SAY 20 EXTRA EPISODES:
* The births and young life of Isabella Rose and Henry Poldark
* Jeremy & Clowance all grown and finding their respective romances and contract
* Ursula Warleggan growing up and appearing and acting as a feminine version of her father!
* Valentine in his teen and young adult years discovering that the kind-hearted Ross was his true father all this time
* All hell breaks when George finally realizes that his dearest Elizabeth had deliberately lied to him onto death and nearly kills Ross in a jealous rage
* Dwight & Caroline live their lives with their 2 new daughters Sophie and Meliora
I mean, it took 13 long years for them to give Samurai Jack a proper ending, no matter how bittersweet!! And 6 for them to add more of Young Justice since it was cancelled after the 2-part Season 2 finale "Endgame".
THERE IS STILL HOPE BURNING!! WHO'S WITH ME!!?"
It says throughout the article that Valentine's biological is Ross, but is this ever actually proven? Yes, he looks a lot more like Ross than George, but that could be because of Elizabeth. And, whilst it is unlikely that she would go into labour after 8 months with nothing happening, it's not impossible. Also, Elizabeth may still have fallen. We don't see her between her dropping the vase and being on the floor, she could have fallen. Also, like Harry Potter, I take the view that the books are canon and the tv series is not canon. In the books, it's told from George's perspective and there is nothing to suggest Elizabeth didn't fall down the stairs and that sent her into labour a month early. It seems like the tv people want us to believe that he is Ross' baby, but it's possible that the author thinks it's George's baby
This states that Ned Despaired took Ross to Dwight Ennis in America. Nonsense - Ross did not meet Dwight until he was back in England. This is not mentioned in the books or during Series 1 - just added to justify the PC Series 5! Misleading!
I read this paragraph about Valentine Warleggan's future:
"George had promised Elizabeth he accepted Valentine was his child and would treat him better, and it was that promise that forced George to at least try and show Valentine rare instances of affection. But George struggled because it was obvious Valentine was like Ross and he had to ignore their connections. Valentine had enough of George's neglect by the time he was teenager, by the time he was a teenager. He made the choice to escape George and make new and genuine friends elsewhere."
What on earth is this crap? Why did Debbie Horsfield thought it was necessary to change Winston Graham's saga to such a degree that it resembled a badly written fan fiction story? This is appalling! By the way, George did technically accept Valentine as his son, although he was emotionally distant with the latter in the novels. Guess what? Ross was EVEN MORE EMOTIONALLY DISTANT to Valentine. This was the main consequence of Ross' rape of Elizabeth, which led to Valentine's conception. Apparently, Horsfield and the BBC were too gutless to be faithful to Graham's story because Ross had to be a "hewo" in the viewers eyes.

We’ve all asked the question... Is Valentine Ross’s son, or George’s? There is fifty fifty chance he isn’t Ross's. Of course back then, no one had anyway of knowing whether one man was the father or if it was the other. What are your thoughts?
