Samuel "Sam" Carne was one of the younger brothers of Demelza Poldark who moved to Cornwall in 1794 with their younger brother Drake Carne.
Biography
Sam was the younger brother of Demelza and the older brother of Drake Carne. Their father, Tom, was once a drunk who used to beat his sister. Demelza fled home, while Sam stayed with Tom who eventually changed and became a Methodist.
Sam also came to share the same belief, and became a Methodist. At one point, Sam left home with Drake and moved to a place by Demelza's home in Nampara.
Behind the scenes
- Sam Carne, played by Tom York, made his first appearance in the third series of Poldark.
